Regardless of whatever comes of this website I cannot in good conscience write much without expressing my faith. I am what I am because of God. Though I am aware of many of my shortcomings and the flaws that persist in my being, my testimony is one that I hold dear to my heart. I am a member of the LDS church—I am Mormon.
I was born in the faith and served an LDS mission to Columbia, South Carolina. Due to circumstances out of my control, I could only serve for one year. When I returned, the elements seemed to combine against me and after a lot of frustration I ultimately fell away from the church for a small season in a depressed anguish. I lost so many things. But eventually I returned.
I want to stress the truth that darkness is there that we may see the light. Each and every one of you, regardless of your faith, regardless of your political leanings, of race, of social status, of gender or of sexual orientation, regardless of anything, it is my testimony that there is a light inside of you far more vivid than most anything we have to compare to in this physical world. And if we could just see it, we would burst into tears as we started to become aware of how incredibly beautiful we are as intelligent, eternal human beings created in the likeness of an all loving Father in Heaven. From what I can tell it’s in our chests. It shines more vivid than nearly anything, save the light and the glory and grace of God Himself.
It’s my testimony that God is real, and that He loves us unconditionally. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to the earth for us. It’s my testimony that Jesus died on the cross for us. I testify that He suffered the pains of the world that we might live again, and that we might be saved in His Holy name so as to one day return to live with Heavenly Father in a state of endless wonder, peace, and love.
It’s my testimony that we are divinely beautiful.
This is what I believe, and I testify of it in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
